The new North Somerset Local Plan has been put on hold due to the change of government.

The concern is that the new Labour government could require 9000 more homes to be built in North Somerset than the plan proposes and that could include building on the Green Belt.
The problem for meeting housing demand in North Somerset is that half is Green Belt or AONB and the rest is flood plain (see map above).
We need to lobby our new MP Sadik Al-Hassan to get the housing requirement for North Somerset reduced to take account of these constraints or risk seeing the green fields around Failand built over.
