Broadband

FTTC availability

FTTC (Fibre-to-the-cabinet) went live in 2016 and Failand residents now enjoy speeds up to 76Mbps.

However speed drops with distance from the new green cabinet by the traffic lights, falling well below the 24Mbps definition of Superfast Broadband at locations furthest away.

Gigaclear have now been awarded the contract to rollout FTTP (Fibre-to-the-premises) which will make 50Mbps+ available to all residents in Failand and Lower Failand in the next 3 years, irrespective of distance from the cabinet.
